In the small mountain community where I live, each winter we get a fair amount of snow.  Well, by Southern California standards, a considerable amount of snow!  Many days I walk up to the post office along the trail by the creek.  One afternoon my neighbor called to say she had spotted a bobcat earlier that day along the trail.  With high hopes, and camera in hand, I dashed out and was rewarded with wonderful shots of a bobcat in sunlit snow, the inspiration for this piece.
