A lone wolf in search of food in the Alaskan tundra pauses by Cotton grass, blending effortlessly into his environment. The background for this piece came from a hike in Denali National Park, near the Drunken Forest. Very aptly named for the bent and misshapen trees, that had succumbed to years of growing in such harsh weather conditions. We saw only tracks of wolves but it was inspiration enough for a painting.
